Engaging Your Subconscious Mind in Order to Create Success (video)

Our guest for today is Thais Gibson, the author of the best-selling book called ‘Attachment Theory: A Guide To Strengthening The Relationships In Your Life.’ She will speak about the necessity of engaging your subconscious mind to create success, overcome procrastination, and ban self-sabotage.

You can find out more about:

  • Linking conscious and subconscious
  • The danger of unmet needs
  • Modeling positive behavior

Linking Conscious And Subconscious

Our goals often fail because we don’t recognize that our subconscious mind needs to align with the goal that our conscious mindsets. It is the source of self-sabotage because our conscious and subconscious minds are working against each other. Without getting them on board, it is impossible to make a lasting change. When sabotage or procrastination happens, understand what needs are being met from that experience, and then work to reprogram those patterns. That is the linking of the conscious and subconscious minds to work together.

There is a framework for discovering your subconscious programs. Identifying what inspires you, what you like to do, think or talk about with other people will show you the things that are already natural in your behavior. Those are the ones your subconscious needs. Linking conscious goals to the things your subconscious is inspired by is the best way to hack goal setting.

The Danger Of Unmet Needs

Every decision we make is to get a specific need met. If we don’t know the deepest roots of our decisions and goals, then we are limited in the ability to create and drive our motivation. Unless you know your personality needs, you can’t establish a clear vision of what you want in life.

When we don’t know our needs, we can’t get them met. It means that we can’t be motivated and inspired, which results in resentment. Unfulfilled people start acting out of desperation, and it can lead to very negative behaviors. That is why one of the most critical things we can do for ourselves and our relationships is getting in touch with our subconscious.

Modeling Positive Behavior

In times of crisis, people often surrender to self-pitty. However, we should focus our energy on thinking about solutions instead of feeling victimized by the problem. It’s about coming up with creative strategies to get more of what we need. We get angry about global issues, but we can’t impact them. We can only affect ourselves and those around us. Collective change happens when each individual takes accountability for their lives.

One of the most effective ways the subconscious mind gets programmed is through things that are modeled to us. Pursuing people to follow our lead could be counterproductive, as they might get defensive. Instead, it’s best to inspire others to improve and change by our own example. That is true leadership.

How To Make These Hard Times Into A Positive Experience (video)

Do you have the right approach to solving problems? In this Expert Insight interview hosted by John Golden, Kevin Popovic discusses how to make these hard times into a positive experience in the long run.

This interview discusses:

  • Problem Solving
  • Changes Enforcement

Problem Solving

The pandemic that is happening now brings problems that we did not have before, thus we must approach the problems differently. The solutions we had before might not be beneficial in this situation. The biggest challenge businesses and people in general have is to make sure that the right problem is addressed. The problem cannot be solved until we identify what the actual problem is. The first thing to do is to create a problem statement using words that will help everyone involved to go in the right direction. That statement is based on what the problem really is, who is involved in the problem and what needs to change from the day it is today. Some sort of KPI such as number, percentage, or time frame is beneficial, and it serves as our North Star – a clear direction. Once the problem statement is clear, then we should start the design thinking process. The keys to design thinking are empathy and define. Empathy is developing an emotional understanding of people involved. To reach understanding we must go through a couple of stages: research, observation, engagement with people, and ethnography. Each level gives us greater understanding. The next step is to define, in which we reframe the problem statement. In 99 out of 100 times the problem statement changes because we became part of the problem and we see it differently. Basically, doing the due diligence and following the protocol makes the whole problem solving more purposeful and more productive.

Enforce Changes

Our business might need to be adjusted as well. We have to recheck our target audience and its needs, current markets, and to look for newer markets to enter. It is important to make sure that our customer segment and value proposition match. People sometimes overestimate their business uniqueness and do not understand that macro issues are the same for everybody. Now is the perfect time to enforce changes in our business. People have so much free time that they can focus better and be more productive in bringing changes. The uncertain times represent the great opportunity for those who are willing to innovate. If we look back in the past troubling times, many millionaires and billionaires came out of the depression era and many innovation products came out post World War 2. The point is that troubling times are the best times to become creative, to show leadership, and to reshape the culture.

How to Refocus For More Positive Energy in Uncertain Times (video)

In this Expert Insight Interview hosted by John Golden, Dewitt Jones discusses how people can refocus themselves with more positive energy to emerge stronger from uncertain times both professionally and personally.

This interview discusses:

  • Positive Approach
  • Open Mind

Positive Approach

Life should be approached from the positive rather than from the negative side. For example, National Geographic magazine recognizes what is good in the world rather than focusing on negative news. The approach we decide to take influences the way we do things. If we approach something with fascination, we are going to engage with it. On the other hand, if we approach something with a negative attitude, we are already getting ready for a failure. The important question for people to ask themselves is whether their vision gives them the energy or takes energy away from them. Life visions and goals can easily change, but the attitude should always stay positive. The same principle is in business as well. Leadership teams like to see employees who are open to possibilities, positive, and ready to engage with the projects.

Open Mind

Throughout college, we are taught that there is only one right answer on the multiple-choice test. But, when people start to believe that there is more than one right answer in life, that is when their lives would change. The key is to become comfortable to look at things from different perspectives and to listen to different opinions. Just like in National Geographic, it is important to stay open to learn about new people and places that we might never physically meet and visit, but at least we can broaden our horizons that way. We need to open ourselves to new knowledge and new possibilities. Small things such as switching the news app from Al Jazeera to the New York Times can help us to hear different opinions and perspectives. The blind following of only one direction diminishes the natural curiosity of people and it does not allow for creative breakthrough thinking. In the business world just like in life in general, people need to be challenged to think creatively and outside of the box because that is the only way for innovation and prosperity. Many people doubt their creativity, but creativity is a part of human nature. Especially now in these challenging times, we are the ones with the power to create our own destiny and we need to be immensely grateful for it. Therefore, we need to redo our thoughts about creativity and decide to celebrate what is right in the world. We need to be grateful for all the things that happened and for all the upcoming opportunities that we will have.

Easiest Way to Find Peace, Happiness, and Abundance (video)

How much control of our lives do we actually have? In this Expert Insight Interview hosted by John Golden, Mabel Katz discusses the easiest way to find peace, happiness, and abundance.

This interview discusses:

  • Zero Frequency
  • Present Time

Zero Frequency

Zero frequency means to be at peace no matter what is going on around you. The key is accountability. However, people need to stop taking other people accountable and to start taking themselves accountable for what is happening to them. Everything people need is already inside them, they just need to find a way to find their inner happiness. Real happiness does not come from money or a big house, it comes from the inside. We are creators of our own destiny, so we have to take control and make a change in our lives. Based on ho’oponopono, traditional Hawaiian art of problem-solving, everything is memorized in our subconscious mind. If we imagine that life is a monitor, we have control of that monitor. We are the ones who choose to talk to someone over the monitor, or simply to delete something from the monitor. For example, forgiving and simply letting go of someone or something helps us to stop living in the past. In Japan, they say that business success comes from spirituality. The important thing is to trust the process and to reorient the subconscious mind from fear and anxiety to the place where worry does not exist.

Present Time

Around 78 percent of our daily talk is negative. Thus, we need to set our mind to more positive thinking and good things will come to us. Depression means that people did not let go of the past. Worry means that people stress for the future. The truth is, the only thing we have is this moment right now, and this moment can change our lives forever. We live in a very comparison driven world. People are constantly trying to show their lives on social media as perfect even though that is far away from how they feel inside. It is important to leave all that pressure behind us and to do what is good for ourselves. We need to really love and accept ourselves. Sometimes, in order to make changes in their lives, people have to let go of some people and influences that create negativity in their lives. This is usually a hard thing for people to do. But, staying in a bad relationship because it used to be good, or because it might become better in the future is never a solution. We have to remember that we live in a present, and we have to learn to own the present moment. The way how we perceive ourselves – that same way the universe will support us. In conclusion, we need to learn to love ourselves, trust ourselves, and be ourselves.

Overcoming Burnout With Resilience – Find Your Roadmap (video)

Our new guest is Eileen McDargh, the CEO of the Resiliency Group and the author of the upcoming book called ‘Burnout to Breakthrough: Building Resilience to Refuel, Recharge, and Reclaim What Matters.’ She will talk about the challenges of the crisis we are in and ways to overcome them.

In this interview, we explore:

  • Burnout
  • The advantages of working remotely
  • Overcoming stress and burnout

Burnout

People all around the world are in a period of extreme stress. We are dealing with the pandemic, recession, growing unemployment, a lot of pressure, and uncertainty. We are faced with new circumstances and the unknown future, so, naturally, a lot of people feel overwhelmed and burnt out.
We don’t have the road map for getting out of this situation, but the truth is that life never gives us the road map for anything. Individuals and organizations that will come out of this thriving are the ones that can create their road maps. When everything is seemingly out of our control, our task is to find where we do have some control. In the end, all we have is today, so it’s a matter of what we can do with this day. We have to accept that some of our patterns need to be broken, and figure out how we can replace them. We may even find that those substitutes are simpler.

Working Remotely

Even though the pandemic forced businesses to become virtualized, remote work gives many benefits to both organizations and employees. With the right approach to it and wise managers, productivity, and employee engagement can improve. Online meetings make our communication more personal, and people are getting to know each other better.
It also allows people to choose where they want to live and gives them the freedom to build their lives the way they like. In the long run, it can make people happier and more satisfied. There are a lot of reasons to look strategically at this business model and assess if it would be the right path for you even after we come out of the crisis.

Self-Care

We all need to reorganize our lives to adjust to new circumstances, which can be very troubling. The first step may be changing our point of view. We can look at everything that is happening as if it was a journey – there are a lot of unknowns, but it’s an adventure.
Energy is what resilience is all about. Burnout is the total depletion of energy, so if we feel exhausted, we should try to figure out where our energy and time go. If we track it for a few days, we will start to see some patterns, and also recognize who the people that drain our energy are. Energy is also quickly depleted by the input, so it’s important to be careful about the content we consume. It’s beneficial to dedicate ourselves to the things that renew us, simplify our needs and relationships, and engage with the world.

Building a Resilient Sales Mindset (video)

In today’s Expert Insight Interview, we are talking about the concept of preventing bad moments from turning into bad days. Our guest is Michael O Brien, the international speaker and the executive coach on a quest to help one million people have their last bad day.

The conversation explores:

  • The survival mode
  • The PBR concept
  • The peloton

The Survival Mode

The human psyche works in a way that lets just one bad moment dominate over multiple good ones. It happens because we are hardwired for survival, so we pay more attention to threats, and blow past the positive things.
Particularly in sales, it is easy to get knocked off track, as one unsuccessful phone call can ruin a whole day. However, we have a choice of how we look at our days. It is important to accept that these moments will happen, but it’s about shifting the perspective so we can move on to better things.

Pause, Breathe, Reflect

When you get triggered, the PBR concept encourages you to reconnect with your breath, pause for a few moments to breathe deeply, and then reflect on the situation. Try to reframe the situation and think about how this is happening for you instead of to you. Finding some benefit, regardless of how difficult it is, shifts the perspective and helps you move on faster. It shows the world that you are resilient and puts the power back in your hands. All events in our lives are neutral until we label them.
The PBR is counter to our very reactive culture. There is a belief that if you pause or slow down, you will lose status. Instead, slowing down makes you more thoughtful and mindful. When we are not thoughtful, conversations don’t go as well as we would like to, and sale is based on conversing and listening. In today’s very virtual world, any moment of silence makes people uncomfortable, but it’s a skill that we should master. We have some of our best ideas when we get quiet.

The Peloton

The peloton is the metaphor for our personal board of directors. Now is the perfect time for some reflection. It is very important to have the right people by your side. This is the moment to identify who they are and get smart about them because they are the ones who will help you move forward.
These people help you gain clarity, stick with you during a crisis, push you out of your comfort zone, comfort you, and celebrate with you, on both professional and personal level. On the other hand, you can find out that some of the people in your peloton are not helping you, and shouldn’t be a part of it.

Million Dollars A Day Campaign (video)

Our guest for today is Teri Ijeoma from ‘Invest With Teri,’ and she helps people understand how to invest properly and make income. She runs the ‘Million Dollars A Day’ campaign to have 1000 of her students make a 1000 dollars a day.

In this interview, we explore:

  • Active stock trade
  • ‘Trade Station’ program
  • Critical factors for successful investment

Active Stock Trade

A common myth about investing is that you can only do it for the long call. There is a way to actively generate income that will help you to fulfill your short-term goals. It’s about finding other successful traders, and then you can start working with them to build your trading strategy.
The key is finding out what you want – how much time you want to dedicate to this business and how much income is your target. The greatest thing about investing is that it gives you the freedom to configure your life how you wish.

‘Trade Station’ Program

It takes money to make money, so investing does require a little bit to start, but there are ways to start small. A program called ‘Trade Station’ is perfect for it, since you can open an account with just $500. It allows you to practice and learn with fake money until you get better. After that, you can start building your account and practicing with real money. It is not just about earning an income but learning a new skill set that will last a lifetime.

Critical Factors For Every Investor

The first step is picking good companies. The best way to do that is to check if they have been on an uptrend over the last year. If you are struggling with the choice, see what companies are hiring now – only the best ones are doing it. You don’t need a large quantity when picking healthy companies, but if you get smaller companies that are not as reliable, you are more liable to lose money than to make it. The second important component is finding out how to protect yourself from losing and having a good risk management plan. For example, make sure not to get in at the highs, wait for stocks to come down a bit. Thirdly, to understand where to buy and where to sell, you need to learn to read charts. Finally, having a trading plan is crucial as it gives you consistent steps to follow, and it takes out relying on emotions.

Effectively Navigating Professional and Personal Changes (video)

How willing are we to accept and make changes in our lives? In this Expert Insight interview hosted by John Golden, Tony Martignetti discusses how to navigate professional and personal change.

This interview discusses:

  • Embrace the Change
  • New Reality

Embrace the Change

It is in people’s nature to be reluctant to change. However, change is an inevitable part of life, thus people should learn to embrace it, or even better to create it. People realize that something has changed, and that brings up the curiosity to find out why something is not the same as it was before. The curiosity leads to finding out the cause of change, which eventually helps people to take control of the change as well. For example, the sales executives’ leader in the risk field wanted to ensure that he was leading the change in the organization in the right direction. He used communication in a very vulnerable and transparent way so that everyone can see their part inside the bigger picture. That way, everyone knew their part towards the change, and they all took control of it. The key is to understand what needs to be changed. Uncertainty is good on some levels. We all have goals that we want to achieve, and if we knew that we would eventually achieve them we might not try hard enough anymore. Thus, uncertainty is good because it inspires us to push forward. Good leaders are the ones who can inspire people to get excited and to lean forward into an unknown future. The pandemic right now is a great opportunity for people to embrace the creative change and to step into an uncertain future without the fear of failure.

New Reality

People also feel the change on the personal level during the pandemic. Many people started working from home which changed their lifestyles. For example, people do not have to commute to work and be in a traffic rush in the morning, which made many of them more productive and generally happier. Therefore, this is a time when people should ask themselves what quality of life they want. From a business perspective, organizations have to accept the new reality. Some businesses might be able to go back to 80 percent of how it was before, but some might be able to go only 10 percent of how it was before. But, bad times trigger creativity and invention in people to create amazing solutions. For example, we found ways to get things delivered to the houses in ways we never thought before. Leaders should hold their visions tightly, but they must be open to change, adaptability, and different ways to get their teams there.
