True Sales Tales: The Horribly Offkey Singing Voicemail

Earlier in my sales career, I was asked to set up some high level appointments at Turner Broadcast Systems. But back then, we didn’t have social media or a bevvy of tools to assist me in getting in the back door. I had to try and get to the person’s executive assistant, or know someone who would transfer me to that person. I could also send a note or email, but that was certainly no guarantee to get the person live on the phone.

I really wanted to shine in my boss’s eyes, and got extremely inventive in getting an executive to accept a meeting. What I did will totally crack you up…but the great part is, it worked. A fantastic lesson in thinking outside the box.
