The “Foreign Language” Test for Higher Conversions
Is your B2B landing page failing the “One Second Test”? According to Sahil Patel, CEO of Spiralyze, most B2B sites rely too heavily on text to explain their value.
In a recent interview, Patel shared a brutal auditing tactic: Translate your homepage into a language your ideal customer doesn’t speak. If they look at the page for 1 second and can’t identify what you sell solely from the layout and imagery, your design is costing you money.
The Quick Fixes:
-
Ditch the Stock Photos: Generic images of “business people shaking hands” are invisible to users.
-
The Audi Rule: Don’t sell a car by showing a blurry background. Show the actual product (screenshots, dashboards, or hardware) above the fold.
-
Big Swings Only: Stop A/B testing button colors. Focus on changing the hero image or the core offer to see real lift.
