Leading with Purpose Is A Vital Success Factor

Upon starting anew for a career or business, it can be intimidating and overwhelming to make sense of everything we must learn and produce. We feel all eyes on us in every capacity, having us doubt our capabilities.  It is vital to remind ourselves of our purpose to convey it clearly and effectively at every level and for all those we encounter.

Moreover, consistency in all that we do, including ethical behavior with purpose underlying our activities and communications, is essential. It is how we build our reputation.

Your Daily Purpose Reminder

As the new day is about to begin, it’s essential to remind ourselves of why one chose the particular route taken and the difference one wants to make. Particularly when we are new to a role, it can be almost scary to face ongoing criticism. However, by taking one step at a time while reminding oneself of why we are on our chosen path to fulfill our purpose, we can gain motivation to ‘let the day begin!’

Jealousy vs. Admiration

People observe our behaviors on multiple levels for various reasons, but we can categorize most reasoning into two primary categories: jealousy versus admiration. Sadly, though, those who admire others are few and far between, but by embracing a purpose to succeed ultimately, the equation will be significantly altered.

Because eyes are watching our unique moves, we must prepare for mishaps with a positive mindset, knowing that everyone errs, but not everyone attends to fixing the issues. Life is an ongoing learning journey for those seeking to achieve success as they navigate the winding road ahead.

The See-Saw of Life

Life is a series of ups and downs, both personally and professionally. Our best way forward after experiencing a downward movement is to first remind oneself of one’s purpose, which helps conjure up the necessary motivation to find an appropriate solution to the matter. Next, take enough quiet time to uncover all the possibilities for why a disaster occurred. Once you know the reason, determine possible next steps to improve future outcomes.

Remember, a determination to rectify errors and overcome outright disasters with your purpose in mind will provide the necessary motivation and a better mindset to continue. Next, be aware that others may ‘cheer’ your failures because they did not want you to outshine them. However, others will be observing the steps you take to learning insights. The irony is that as you strive to overcome seemingly ongoing errors, it becomes your unique and admirable process for achieving your far-reaching goals.

Lesson: The only person who can hold you back is you. A common thought is, ‘We become what we believe.’ However, purpose can be our differentiator for toughening up and advancing beyond what we initially believe to be possible, but only when we embrace the concept.

Aligning Sales with Purpose

The VMC (video marketing company) makes it easy to lead with purpose. Companies can deliver messaging that reflects their core values—whether that’s sustainability, inclusion, innovation, or service—and ensure it’s consistent across direct sales, partner networks, and marketing teams.

  • Outcome: Higher engagement, stronger brand trust, and values-based selling that resonates.
  • Use Case Example: A purpose-led wellness brand uses VMC – The Video Marketing Center to distribute videos on ingredient sourcing, supported by customer testimonials and product knowledge surveys.

Servant Leader Celebration

The ‘servant leader’ concept has caught popularity as over time, we realize that those who merely give orders are not the type we admire. But striving to help others and inspiring them to advance takes extra work, skills, and fortitude. The reward is in ‘the boomerang effect’ – as people recognize we are serving them; they return the favor collaboratively for us to realize exponential results.  Accordingly, when the time is right for a celebration, collectively arrange one for all to enjoy ‘the win.’

Conclusion: Leading with Purpose Promotes Interest and Growth:

As your collaborative network gathers to celebrate, it’s wise to request their thoughts on the effort in place, and how to improve to take processes to new heights.  Last, have each person share how they view their purpose and how it helps them grow individually and in group settings. Looking back, it will be evident that purpose gives direction for growth.
